Located in the 1762 Brick Market (designed by Peter Harrison) our award-winning Museum is the perfect place to begin a visit to Newport. The Museum provides the whole family with an engaging introduction to the area's rich history and the beauty of its architecture. Glimpse the lives of the people--past and present--who have made Newport one of America's most historic cities. Open daily, the Brick Market Museum and Shop is an information center and departure point for guided walking tours.

Newport History Starts Here

The Brick Market Museum & Shop brings Newport's unique and exciting story to life. Located on Washington Square, the Museum provides the whole family with an engaging introduction to the area's rich history, architecture, and the stories of the people who have made Newport one of America's most important historic cities.

Exhibits feature James Franklin's printing press, the figurehead from the yacht Aloha,photographs, furniture, colonial silver, paintings, objects of daily life and more, all from the collections of the Newport Historical Society.
